Welcome to the Global Neuropsychiatry Group
Welcome to the Global Neuropsychiatry Group (GNG). We hope you find this a valuable learning platform for exploring neuropsychiatry, exchanging knowledge and connecting with professionals from around the world.
The GNG was established to help expand access to neuropsychiatric knowledge and support the development of neuropsychiatry globally.
Our Global Partnership
Neuropsychiatry is not yet recognised as an established specialty in many countries. Through our collaboration with the International Neuropsychiatric Association (INA), we aim to disseminate knowledge, encourage professional collaboration and support the growth of neuropsychiatry worldwide.
Recordings from our monthly academic meetings are available through the INA website. We also encourage GNG members to consider joining the INA and becoming part of its wider international network.
Who Can Join?
Professionals interested in the interface between neurology and psychiatry are invited to join the Global Neuropsychiatry Group.
This virtual group provides a forum for professionals to share knowledge, learn from one another and make neuropsychiatry more accessible across the globe.
- Discuss complex clinical cases with colleagues.
- Share research ideas and areas of professional interest.
- Learn from clinical practices in different countries.
- Build connections with peers, senior clinicians and academics.
A Truly International Community
The group includes approximately 600 members from the United States, Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, Australia and many other countries.
This international network provides insight into service delivery and clinical practices across different healthcare systems while also creating opportunities for multinational research.
The forum is also mindful of the training gap experienced by neurology trainees seeking greater exposure to psychiatry and psychiatry trainees seeking greater exposure to neurology. It provides an accessible source of education and an opportunity to establish professional networks with both peers and experienced clinicians.

Meet the GNG Team
Meet the people helping to lead, coordinate and grow the Global Neuropsychiatry Group and its international professional community.

Dr Jasvinder Singh
Dr Jasvinder Singh is the founder of the Global Neuropsychiatry Group and a neuropsychiatrist based in Brisbane, Australia.
Dr Singh has a strong interest in neuropsychiatry and is passionate about sharing neuropsychiatric knowledge with clinicians and academics around the world.
He completed his neuropsychiatry training in the United Kingdom and worked as a neuropsychiatrist at a major regional neuropsychiatry centre in Newcastle upon Tyne before moving to Australia.
His inspiration for establishing the GNG came from his own experiences, and those of his colleagues, in gaining clinical experience in neuropsychiatry where access to specialist training and resources was limited.
With the support of colleagues internationally, he hopes the GNG can help address this gap by creating accessible opportunities for education, professional discussion and collaboration.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
With more than 600 members, the growth of the GNG reflects the commitment and support of its international community. Dr Singh is deeply grateful to the colleagues and members who continue to support the group and help spread its mission.
